welcome back — we hope you’ve felt some joy in your lives since we last saw you!
people think of fashion shoots as existing between two poles: hyper-serious, high fashion shoots that produce glossy, publishable work; or fun shoots with friends that focus more on crafting an aesthetic world than on the technical aspects (composition, lighting, camera settings, etc) of the photos themselves. we think both of these methods are valid, but we think that drawing a hard distinction between the two isn’t necessary.
we wanted to do a shoot in the middle of these things: a fun one that inhabits and portrays the vibe of our world, but that is also focused on the craft end of photography. so we headed over to our friend’s party and ran a photo booth capturing everyone’s party looks while our friends dj’d their sets in the other room. (highlight of the night: the entire party jumping up and down screaming the lyrics to kelly clarkson’s “since u been gone”)
we experimented with a blue gel on some of them… let us know what you think and enjoy the photos~
hope you’re having a relaxing sunday (don’t be afraid to let your underwear show),
